Creating Circular Collages to Slow Down and Re-Center with Ashley Blanton
Creating Circular Collages to Slow Down and Re-Center with Ashley Blanton
Monday, February 21st at 6pm EST
In a world that is often chaotic and overwhelming, small acts of slowing down are increasingly essential for emotional and physical wellbeing. In this experiential, process-oriented workshop, we will explore how the modality of collage, incorporated within a circular framework, can be utilized as a tool for attunement, centering, and contemplation. Drawing upon her training in Art Therapy, artist Ashley Blanton will guide participants through a mindful approach to collage that can be integrated into a variety of creative practices.
Suggested materials:
Blank paper of your choosing. You may like to have both smaller and larger sizes of paper available to use.
Collage materials. This could include, but is not limited to: magazines, decorative papers, colored tissue paper, photographs, book pages, old artworks that you're willing to cut up and repurpose.
A drawing compass or circular objects such as bowls, plates, lids, etc. to use to trace the outline of a circle. You may like to have different sized circles on hand to experiment with smaller and larger formats.
