Cities around the world are experiencing major changes. Doors are shut, lights are off, people are at home, and the pulse of any city is not what it once was. This collection of sketchbooks features street photography shot during the times of crowded train cars, busy city streets, bustling marketplaces and readymade street sculptures. Ranging from wide to intimate frames, these photographers captured the life, pace and personality of wherever they went.

Of course we have to start out with a sketchbook dedicated to our city— New York City Streets by Rachel Hain features “candid shots of passers-by caught in transient moments, capturing the spontaneity of city life” and documents the artist’s thoughts as they traversed the city.
